The challenge
NewWave Events runs dragon boat racing for very different people. A charity wants to know how the fundraising works. A company wants a team day sorted from start to finish. Someone else just wants to enter a crew at their local festival.
The website had to:
- Give each of those visitors a clear route to the right event, without burying the others.
- Be found when people search for dragon boat racing near them, in every region NewWave covers.
- Answer the practical questions about safety, venues and planning before anyone picks up the phone.
The solution
We built the site around those audiences. Festivals, charity events, corporate racing and Rotary club events each have their own landing page, and every festival, from London to Cambridge, Peterborough, Milton Keynes and Northampton, has a page with the details a team captain needs.
For search, we added regional pages covering the whole of the UK, alongside guides to planning an event, health and safety, the history of the sport and the questions people ask most. That content earns visibility and does the job of a first sales call.
A charity calendar and results section keeps the site current through the racing season.
